Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Rift-code website and related services ("Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. Last updated: April 20, 2026.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at contact@rift-code.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

The Service

Rift-code provides tools to visualize and explore software repositories you choose to connect or analyze through the Service, including features such as architecture views, file structure exploration, user-flow style summaries, and question-and-answer style assistance over your codebase context.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service with reasonable notice where practicable. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Your responsibilities

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the Service in violation of applicable law or regulation;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service;
  • Use the Service to transmit malware, spam, or harmful content;
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code of the Service except where expressly permitted by law;
  • Use automated means to access the Service in a manner that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to analyze any repository you submit. You remain responsible for complying with licenses, contracts, and policies that apply to your code and to any third-party repository hosts you use.

Intellectual property

The Service, its branding, software, and documentation are owned by Rift-code and are protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your internal business or personal development purposes.

As between you and Rift-code, you retain ownership of your repositories and your code. You grant us a license to host, process, copy, and display your content solely as needed to provide and improve the Service for you.

Third-party materials

The Service may help you visualize or interpret third-party or open-source materials. We are not responsible for third-party content, licenses, or availability. Your use of such materials remains at your own risk and subject to the applicable third-party terms.

Fees

Some features may be offered on a paid basis. If you purchase a paid plan, you agree to the pricing and billing terms presented at checkout or in your order. Unless otherwise stated, fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as we expressly agree in writing.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT OUTPUTS (INCLUDING ANY AI-GENERATED SUMMARIES OR DIAGRAMS) ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR PRODUCTION OR COMPLIANCE DECISIONS. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING RESULTS BEFORE RELYING ON THEM.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL RIFT-CODE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IN ANY TWELVE-MONTH PERIOD WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THAT PERIOD OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100), IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US ANYTHING IN THAT PERIOD.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Rift-code and its affiliates, officers, and employees against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or if we must do so to comply with law or protect the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnity) will survive termination.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in the United States shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service, subject to any non-waivable rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where appropriate. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
